An unique item from Norway. A rare plate from Norwegian Stavangerflint with a hand-decorated motive of Norwegian folk-art. The plate was made by Stavangerflint in 1952, and painted by an artist in 1953. The techniques are high-temperature biscuiting, overglazed hand-painting and porcelain low-temperature glaze firing.
The origin of the nordic pattern was based on the style of Norwegian rosemaling & rose painting and Norwegian folk art. A good example of Norwegian country style. The bowl is in very good condition, some tiny missing color dots from production.
The plate was signed and dated by artist: "Myllargutten" and "Håndmalt av E. Folvik-HANSEN 1953". (Wiki: Targjei Augundsson (1801 – 21 November 1872), better known as Myllarguten (meaning the Millerboy), is arguably the most acknowledged Norwegian folk musician to this day, and by far the most legendary.)
Size.:Diameter ca. 34cm .
The plate was made as a wall decor. The plate can also be used as a cake plate/ serving plate.
