A rare antique silver jug / tankard with detailed decoration in dragon style from 1904. The origin of the dragon style of the silver jug/ tankard is from Norwegian wood carving and old viking style ornament.
Made by Thune in the early 1900s, dated 1904. Silver Stamp :"Thune 830s". Detailed decorated with the style of silver master HENRIK MOLLER(1858-1937).
Fantastic Norwegian / Scandinavian antique item with a rich history. The tankard was rewarded to several famous chess players from 1904-1908.
Engraving: " CHR. A SCHAKSELSKABS VANDREPOKAL, VUNDET AF E. SKJONSBERG 1904, HEIESTAD 1905 OLAF SMEDAL 1906 OLAF SMEDAL 1907 OLAF SMEDAL 1908".
