A professionally handcrafted/hand carved Norwegian mangle board in wood with detailed baroque style pattern. Collectible piece made in ca. 1970s. Perfect for Rustic / country style/ farmhouse style house/cabin interior.

Carved year 1697 in front and stamped on the back side: "MUSEUM PIECE REPLICAS" and "Petter C. Omtvedt, Treskjærerverksted, Rauland"

Petter C. Omtvedt was a Norwegian woodcarver and artist who lived from 1934 to 2021.

He was known for his hand-carved wooden sculpture after pieces from the Norwegian Viking Age and the Middle Ages, as well as baroque style wooden building ornaments, church ornaments and figurs, etc.

Petter C. Omtvedt was a skilled woodcarver who made a significant contribution to the art world through his mangle boards and other wooden creations. Mange of his works are in collection of Norwegian museum, such as Telemark Museum, Norsk folkemuseum, etc.

The item is in very good condition. Original condition. Please note that the small damage on the handle and a hole on the top part of the mangle board were made on purpose by the artist, to make it in the similar condition as the original museum piece.
