This deeply handcrafted and intricately hand-carved porridge amber / ambar from Telemark/Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, showcases complex wood-carving patterns. Made in 2003, it is a little over 20 years old and remains in perfect condition.

Handcrafted, in pinewood / pine wood / bentwood, painted in classic / traditional farmhouse red / green red. Signed and dated by artist with deeply carved initials and year "K.M. 2003" under lid.

Artists from Telemark inherited traditional carving techniques and patterns from the masters of old. Telemark/Gudbrandsdalen wood carving is renowned for its complexity and detailed designs.

This amber, one of the finest pieces from Seljord, Telemark, exemplifies traditional Norwegian folk art.
