Norwegian wall hanging, painting, wall decor with traditional rosemaling on green base color.

Beautiful Telemark rosemaling pattern handpainted in 1974 by famous rosemaling painter and designer K. Andersen ( Knut Andersen). Knut Andersen is not just famous as a rosemaler, but also famous as a designer at Porsgrund Porcelain.

Signed and dated by the artist up to left: "K. Andersen-74". Text on the back side: "Til deg fra meg-10. Norvember 1974".

A perfect wall hanging for country style/ rustic style/ farmhouse style house/cabin.

Norwegian/Scandinavian wood decor, folkart from Norway.

"Det er en lykke i livet
som ikke vendes til lede:
Det at du gleder en annen
det er den eneste glede

Det er en sorg i verden
som ingen tårer kan lette:
Det at det var for sent
da du skjønte dette

Ingen kan resten av tiden
stå ved en grav og klage
Døgnet har mange timer
året har mange dage"

which means:

"There is a happiness in life
which cannot be turned into lead:

The fact that you make someone else happy is the only joy.
There is a sadness in the world
which no tears can lighten:
The fact that it was too late when you realized this.
No one can the rest of the time
standing by a grave to complain:
The day has many hours:
The year has many days."
