1950s Norwegian folk-art handcarved Mug / tray / bowl / Candy / Snacks Bowl from Telemark, Norway

A well carved bowl in wood with handpainted and scorched decoration of cabin from Telemark. The piece was hand carved by Norwegian artist Norvald Nordskog from Telemark in the 1950s.

The masterpiece was handcrafted by N. Nordskog (not signed). N. Nordskog is an artist from Telemark who is famous for hand carving art. His early work is in the collection of West-Telemark Museum. It's a quality object for Norwegian folk art collectors, an artwork worth passing from generation to generation.

The bowl/tray was designed to drink beer. It is perfect for candy / snacks and / or table decor.

Text. "Øverbø, Morgedal, der Sondre Norheim vart født 10-6-1825. Der Olympia-Fakkelen vart lendt 13-2-1952. " -"The Olympic Torch was landed on 13-2-1952"

The item is in good/perfect vintage condition, minor age-related traces and patina.

This bowl was made a memory of Sondre Norheim. Sondre Norheim( more infor. se : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sondre_Norheim ), born Sondre Auverson, (10 June 1825 – 9 March 1897) was a Norwegian skier and pioneer of modern skiing. Sondre Norheim is known as the father of Telemark skiing.
