Originating from Vestland, Norway, circa 1911, the chair exemplifies traditional craftsmanship with its iconic carved belt and ergonomic silhouette.

Distinguished by its professionally painted National Romantic decoration, the piece features a dynamic folk art motif of Saint George or Viking Warrior and the Dragon, rendered with scrollwork, floral elements, and vibrant accents over a deep farmhouse red ground. The painting, dated 1911 on the reverse of the chair, retains a superb antique patina with subtle, age-appropriate fading, enhancing its authentic character.
