A rare and important primitive antique desk organizer, hand-carved from solid oak in Norway and dated September 24, 1711. The front panel features detailed Baroque-style carved patterns and an inscribed inscription reading:

"JENS JONSEN TANGEN MAREN PEDERS DATER HAFRWEN TEMBER DEN 24 SEP ANNO 1711"

This unique, one-of-a-kind piece functions as a document box, keepsake chest, travel writing slope, or desktop storage organizer. Crafted in 1711 as a wedding gift. An exquisite example of Norwegian farmhouse folk art, it embodies wabi-sabi—the appreciation of imperfection, impermanence, and humble natural materials.
